We went about 25 miles up a river deep into the jungle and stopped at a lake. The ruins to Lamanai were on the shore of that lake. We spent the day wildlife watching and exploring the Mayan ruins.

After two days in the jungle I had the insect bites to prove I'd been there. I had more than 100 bites on my legs alone.
